Photoshop for Hell- Nancy Drew Blog Hop Coming Soon

Would you believe that I have been on my computer since I got home from work, trying to workout a problem with Photoshop.  There is nothing wrong with the program, it is just me.  I am getting ready for my next blog hop and I want to do something different with the pictures I take.  In order for me to work this out, I might have to read the hold darn book on working with Photoshop tools and layers and what ever else I will need.  OMG, I need hands on tutorials, the ones on line gives me nothing.  This is one thing I cannot work on at work and must do from home.  If I don’t figure this out by the weekend, I plan to give it up and just show my plain old photos.  Do you know I still have not played with the new sewing machine.  Guess I get to use it this weekend if nothing major happens.

As you know my mother is still in therapy and I have been trying to make sure my father has something to eat.  Today he asked if I could come down to the house to show him how to wash clothes.  Yah, right I think he want me to do his laundry.  I told my daughter to go down there to show him.

Nancy DREW is a clue

The Nancy Drew Blog Hop will be starting next week (March 6-15th) and it is sure to be one Mystery after another. The young teenage sleuth will be solving all kinds of mysteries around the blog (wish she could solve my Photoshop problem).  Sew, the list of assistant sleuths will be posted soon, I need to check for my day.  So keep your eyes open and solve the mysteries with the Nancy Drew bloggers.

Somewhere In Photoshop Land I will prevail.

Day 7 It's All About Me Blog Hop

Moving right along is this most exciting hop this year.  The talented creations of the participants has just blown my mind and make me want to get back on the drawing board and redo my little lady to bring out the "Me" in her, but I just will have to be satisfied in what I did and take more time to create a "Me" when I am just sitting around trying to think of something to do.  I tell you I am busy.  So busy with home stuff that I still have not threaded the new sewing machine, and it not like I don't have project to complete.

Anyway here is the list of the participants today.  Have fun seeing all that you can see, and please leave a comment.

Day 6 "It's All About Me" Blog Hop

Yes, bloggers and followers, it is Day 6 of the "All About Me" blog hop, and let me tell you there are some great "ME"s out there.  The creativity and the over all enthusiasm of the artistic work these ladies are doing will blow your mine.  O.K. do you think that was a little too much?  Well I don't, it takes a lot of time and imagination to put yourself on cloth. To stand up and say 'IT'S ALL ABOUT ME', no kids, no DH, no work, no bills, it is just ABOUT ME, ME, ME,.

O.K.  I am a little dramatic today so here is the list of toady's participants.

Getting Old-Not Yet-But Feeling It

This is not far form the truth.  My Birthday was yesterday (Saturday) and was well recognized by family, friends and even the bloggers through phone calls, e-mails, cards, text messages and even face book.  Ear rings from my son, sewing machine from Tom (which I still have not used yet) and a upcoming dinner date and movie.

I attend my Quilting Bee that started at 12:00 and had fun playing a bingo game before the meeting started.  We had some great show and tellSAM_2291SAM_2293

Gwen’s scrappy quilts.  She is on a fabric diet.  Does not plan to buy anymore until she is close to using up what she has.  Yah right, we know how that is.

This great little quilt above is by CC Flower, it will be cut down to blocks like the one on the right with this Twister ruler.  I cannot wait to see how that will come out.

And as usual, food.  Salman cakes, chicken, shrimp, pasta salad, tuna salad, coconut pie and a brownie pecan something another that Carolyn created (it was good).

I got home around 4:00 and I was done for.  Yes, I tried to make it to the sewing room, but that was not working for me.  So I just went up stairs and passed out.  Tom brought me dinner in bed (carryout fish dinner), which was fine with me.

I think it was a most relaxing birthday I could have had.  I love talking to the people around me, and loved hearing from my nephew who called me from Georgia.  I think my father forgot it was my birthday and I forgot to remind him.  Oh well, don’t they say the the “Mind is the first to go” or is it my knees.

They say (and by the way who are “They”?) Sunday is a day of rest.  Do we really rest on Sunday?  I know I don’t.  I am up early going to Sunday School and attending Sunday Service.  Running Darnell to an audition, running pass the hospital to visit my mom (and before I got half way out of the parking lot to come home, she calls and ask if I can stop by the store and pickup some kitty litter and trash bags).  Get home fix dinner and run a plate down to my father for his dinner (I live down the street from them).  Wash up the dishes, wash clothes, wash my hair and after I finish this blog, I will wash me.  Thank God my knee is better, or I might need a wheel chair (hopefully it is electric).

So all-n-all I will sum up my Birthday weekend as Happy.  Happy that I am still here on earth.  Happy that I have friends and family.  Happy that I am walking, talking and typing on my blog, and Happy that there is a great blogging community out there that will read this stuff.

Day 5 It’s All About Me

Today is All About Me, it is my Birthday.  No great plans as of yet, I have a Bee meeting today which I always look forward to.  My son brought me two pair of ear rings silver and gold and plans to take me out to dinner to some restaurant I never heard of.  Told me I have to experience something other then what I see on T.V.  (Outback, Applebee's and the like).  As you know from Friday’s post, “It’s All About Me” shoulder bag, Tom brought me a new sewing machine.  I set it up, but have been sew buzzy reading comments and answering them, then check out the other participants and leaving comments, then back to reading more comments, I have not had a chance to even thread  the darn thing yet.  Well if I am not too tired when I get home form the meeting I might just thread the darn thing and see what it can do.

After work yesterday, I went to visit my mother at the hospital, she had surgery on her back and now is in therapy.  She is coming along fine.  Had to stop by the store to pick up some more Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls for my Dad so he will have something other then McDonalds to eat.  I do fix him dinner when I cook, but there is nothing better then a Hungry Man Dinner in a pinch.

Well we are off and running on the 5th day of this hop, and I have to tell you there are some creative quilters out there.  I am enjoying go to visit them all.  So with out further ado, here is todays line up of creative quilters doing themselves proud.

It’s All About Me Today Blog Hop

buttonbiased4 Yes, Today is my day for this wonderful blog hop and before you get a look and my creation, I would like to give my thanks to Mdm Samm for always creating such fun blog hops,  Marlene for hosting and cheering us on this event, and Amy Bradley for providing our pattern to work off of and creating our own.
Now, I have been having some sewing machine problems.  My faithful sewing machine broke down on me, so I have been using one of my girl friend’s , which has no drop down feed dogs and limited stitching, and OMG, I had to thread the need myself.  Lord what did we do without these wonderful amities before the age of computerization.  Anyway I struggled through, did need all the fancy stuff anyway, but I did miss it.
I'm a little slow
So Here I am,  It says “I’m a little Slow”.    I had to bling her out, and to tell you the truth, my boobs are that big and a bit on the saggy side of touching my knees when the bra is off.  She is now my new shoulder bag.  Roomy enough to carry those things, like my kindle, keys and wallet with out having to carry a big bag around with me when I run out on short trips.
I took her to the office retreat with me after stopping by the doctors office to check out my knee.  Everyone loved her.
After I got home, Tom took be to Hancock Fabrics, which is going out of business in Forestville, MD so I could pick out a new sewing machine for my birthday, YAH!!  Told you I was going to get a machine for my birthday,  It has all the bells and whistles that I need at this time.
I am ready to set up and sew.  Need to get my other hop projects done.  Oh, here are pictures of the back and inside of the bag.  The bag has a pocket in the back that is as flat as my backside and pockets in the inside to hold my keys and cell phone another things I carry.
So that is all folks, please make sure you check out the other hoppers today.

Blog Help - Another Question or Two????

clip_image002First I would like to thank all of my fellow bloggers for answering my first "Burning Question" about replying to comments thru e-mail or reply on post. The consensus is that we all like to reply by e-mail.

My other question is, and I have to tell you it is not the only question, I was wondering that when you click on “Followers – Join This Site”, does this automatically go to your reader or some place where you can follow/read their blogs?  Now when I follow a persons blog, I copy their URL and past it in my blogger reader so that when they post I can make sure I do not miss them.  I was just wondering is this the right thing to do or is there another way.

Second question is, when I first set up my blog, I used my MSN account to read comments, then I set up my GOOGLE account.  I receive some comments in MSN, most/all of those are replies from bloggers that I have left comment.  On my Google account all are comments to my post.  Is there something I need to change in my account setup to receive my comments and replies on just the Google account.  I do not mine going to both accounts, but I find that I always have to check my junk box in MSN to make sure that I do not miss any comments.

O.K.  those are the last question I will have.  I have been working late and have not had a chance to work on any of my 3 projects, put they will be ready for the hops when they come up.  I have been following the blogs and leaving comments from the job since I have a lot of down time at the moment, and my daughter has been in my sewing room using the computer, so I could not get in there to sew.

OH GEE!!  Something else just pop in my thoughts, it is right on the tip of my tongue, oh yah,  I am a bad speller and I hate leaving comments with misspelled words.  Why doesn't the comments section have a spell check?

The Burning Question

I know I have not blogged in a couple of days.  I have been working on blog hop stuff, that I cannot show you at this time.  I have been hopping around the blogs reading and leaving comment.  But what has me wondering and maybe someone out there could answer this questions.  Do you reply on your blog or your e-mail, and which is better to do?

The reason I asked this question is that I notice recently, that instead of replying to comments by e-mail, I could reply right there under the comments.  I still get e-mails and reply by that method.  Is there a diffrence?  Would I still get the e-mails.  I know I should try it out, put do you Know?

Get back to me on this.  It is burning my brains and I need it for other stupit questions.

Why I Blog–Story of a Blogger?

For weeks now, I have been pondering this question “Why Do I Blog”? I started to make a list, but I am terrible in making lists, so I just said to myself, “Self, just write from your heart and head”. If you have read anything I have written, you know I have this thing (or littler person) that runs around in my head and sings songs from out of no-where or just talks to me. I guess it is better than talking to myself, thou I do that sometimes too.

Now I do not want this to be a long post, because I know you have others blogs to read or getting that next quilting project done, so this might be a two part post, and maybe you might be saying, I do not feel like ready all this stuff. It’s alright; I am just in a pondering mood tonight.

So let me get started. I got the blogging bug just a year ago. Two of my Guild/Bee friends Linda -eat, sleep and quilt and Yetunde-Sistah Stitch A lot had started up blogs and I would visit them and read what they were doing. Then I started visiting other blogs from their side bars, reading what others were talking about their quilts or other projects. Since I was the newsletter reporter for my Bee and writing up quilting type stories like “All About The Scant Quarter Inch” and other quilting stories, I thought I would try my hand on blogging. It took me awhile to get the hang of the blogging world, how to set up a blog; joining hops; linking up (still trying to figure that out); leaving comments and blog etiquette. Then how do you get people to even take notice of you and want to come back and visit you again, and again, and again, the followers.

Ah, what can I say, I was hooked. I give all of you a standing novation. Thank you to those of you who have given tutorials, giveaways, free patterns, and new ideas on doing quilting things. Thank you (name dropping here) to Madame Samm (Sew We Quilt); Just Carol (Just Let Me Quilt) for cheering us on to the most inventive blog hops, Jenelle of Echinops and Aster for her “Tech Help” blog tutorials, just a few names from the top of my head (too lazy to look through all the blogs that I follow), but you know who you are for your linky parties so that other blogs can me recognized and bring up their following list.

There is nothing so exciting then people you have never met to feel like your closes friends. The shared interest, the sad time, the happy times, the accomplishments you feel when you look on the your side bar as see that you have gained more followers, or when you receive such a glowing comment about your writing or your latest quilt project.

I can go on and on, but it already looks like this is getting too long and still don’t think I have even really told you “Why I Blog”. May be I should make that list to get my thoughts together and get back to it another time. While I working out my thoughts, why don’t you leave me a comment on why you blog, and I will use it in my next blog.

Crazy, right, I’m starting to repeat myself and even I don’t feel like reading over what I have written.

So until I blog again

I started this post this morning when we were having our little snow storm.  I could not finish, finish since I was trying to get to work.

Since it is too dark out, I could not get a good picture of what it looks like now, but I can tell you, you would not know that we had snow this morning.  Well, that is o.k. with me, I have not gone food shopping since I have been home and would like to get something in here before the weather does get bad.

I am working on some blog hop stuff, which I cannot show you yet.  I think I might even surprise myself.  So I will blog with you later.
